Volume 1Volume 2

Ultimate Tractor Power - Articulated Tractors of the World (Volume 1 & 2)
by Peter D. Simpson

WagnerTractors.com would like to take a moment to recommend this book. "The 'Ultimate Tractor Power' series of books, Volume 1 and Volume 2 takes a comprehensive look at four-wheel drive articulated tractors of the world from the Wagner of the 1950s through the present day New Holland TH Series. Manufactures in many countries have built high horsepower four-wheel drive articulated tractors; in some cases just one manufacturer took up the challenge and in other countries a much wider choice was offered." Volume 2 devotes pages 140-155 to the Wagner tractor and its' history in the world of 4-wheel drive tractors. Here is an excerpt from volume 2: "In 1922 Eddie Wagner and his six brothers, from Portland, Oregon, started a company called Mixermobile. They designed a mobile machine which could mix and place concrete on site; hence the company name became Mixermobile. From these small beginnings, the brothers became pioneers in several major areas, which included forestry machinery, wheeled loading shovels, mining equipment and other four-wheel drive machines associated with industrial use” (pg. 140).
